Hydrostatic Pressure Testing Training
About this course:
We offer two distinct one day training courses. An Operative Course and a Supervisor Course. The aim of both courses is to provide individuals with the knowledge and skills to Safely carry out Hydrostatic Pressure Testing in accordance with IGN 4-01-03 2015: Issue 2 which is the adopted Irish Water Standard. Both courses are provided and run in partnership with Eng Tech Services Water Management at our training facilities in Waterford

Course Objectives
Operative Course
Each Participant will be required to carry out a Hydrostatic Pressure test on PE Pipework as part of the training course.
- Understand why pressure testing is carried out and what it can tell us.
- Identify the different pipe materials and select the most appropriate test procedures.
- Identify test equipment, pressure pumps, data logger, flow meters and fittings and select the most appropriate ones for the test being carried out.
- Identify the most appropriate filling and test location and select the correct test pressure.
- Conduct a pressure test in accordance with IGN 4-01-03 2015: Issue 2.
Supervisor Course
This course is suited to supervising Site Engineers/Project managers.
On successful completion of the course individuals will be able to:
- Understand why pressure testing is carried out and what it can tell us.
- Identify the different pipe materials and select the most appropriate test pressures.
- Identify test equipment, pressure pumps, data logger, flow meters and fittings and select the most appropriate ones for the test being carried out.
- Understand Pipework and Testing terminology .
- Explain and understand Pass/Fail criteria
- Carry out the relevant calculations to establish % Air Content and Test Durations.
- Understand industry best practice when carrying out Type 1, Type 2 and Service Connection Tests in accordance with IGN 4-01-03 2015; Issue 2
- Understand the required Test Analysis and Reporting requirements.
- Retrieve Logger Data and carry out three point analysis in accordance with IGN 4-01-03 2015: Issue 2
- Provide an understanding and demonstrate safe practice when carrying out tests.
On successful completion of the Training Course you will receive an ETS ID Card which is valid for 3 years.
